Mosquito Bush

Mosquito Bush (Strumpfia maritima) grows on rocky or sandy shores and near salty wetlands, hence its species name ‘maritime’. On windy coasts it usually doesn’t get much taller than about a metre. The tiny flowers can be pink or white.It is said that the smoke from a smoldering fire of this plant will repel mosquitos.
