| Guidelines for Use of Government Run Parks in the Turks and Caicos |
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands; Thursday, July 16th, 2009 - The Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) would like to advise the general public about the terms and conditions for the use Government operated parks in the Turks and Caicos, namely the Bight Park, Cidar Park, Governor’s Beach, Lester Williams Park, Crab Tree Corner Park, Lighthouse Park and the Clock Tower Park.
For any event, whether private or corporate, an application form must be filled out in advance, which is available at the DECR’s Providenciales or Grand Turk office.
With regard to the Bight Park, there is a usage fee and a security deposit that is required for all events, of which the receipt for payment to the Treasury can be obtained at the DECR’s Providenciales office, Lower Bight Road.
The rental fee for use of the Bight Park is as follows:

The security deposit covers any potential damages done in the park and is refundable upon satisfactory inspection of the park by the maintenance officer after the event.
Please note that the deposits will not be refunded in the following instances: if there is damage to infrastructure in the park including but not limited to pipes, plumbing, benches, vegetation etc; if the garbage is not collected and removed from the park; if the bathrooms and cabana are not cleaned, or if locks to these areas are damaged/broken; and if there is vandalism to the park.
For all events intending to attract more than 30 persons, the applicant must provide their own sanitary facilities (portable toilets), as the public facilities will be closed for the duration of the event. Nevertheless, for small functions, the public is being asked to provide their own toiletries and soap.
Importantly, noise levels should not exceed 75 decibels and all speakers should be turned inwards away from the road or surrounding properties. Persons are to be reminded that the Bight Park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset; and pedestrian access is also closed at sunset.
GUIDELINES FOR USE OF THE CEDAR PARK (DECK AT ALEXANDRA BEACH ACCESS)
The rental fee for use of the Cedar Park is as follows:

The security deposit covers any potential damages done in the park and is refundable upon satisfactory inspection of the park by the maintenance officer after the event.
Please note that the deposits will not be refunded in the following instances: if there is damage to infrastructure in the park including but not limited to benches, vegetation etc; if the garbage is not collected and removed from the park; and if there is vandalism to the park.

Importantly, it is prohibited to make fires on the beach without the use of a portable stove or grill.
GUIDELINES FOR USE OF GRAND TURK RECREATIONAL PARKS (GOVERNOR’S BEACH, LESTER WILLIAMS PARK, CRAB TREE CORNER PARK, LIGHTHOUSE PARK, CLOCK TOWER PARK)
An application form for use of the park must be filled out in advance. These forms are available at the DECR office, Church Folly, Grand Turk.
The rental fee for use of these parks is as follows:

The public bathrooms will be opened to facilitate small functions and all users are asked to provide their toiletries including tissue and soap. For large functions the bathrooms will be closed and the organizer will be asked to provide portable toilet facilities at their own expense.
