Between May 28-29 Reef Innovations representatives and the diving staff of the DECR carried out corrective efforts on the Reef Balls that were placed in GDT late last year. Due to the hard substrate that characterized most of the sand area where the various clusters were placed, it had been difficult to sufficiently anchor the balls and over time with wave action, many of these clusters shifted. Over the two days, the various clusters were repositioned to areas where the substrate was more suitable for anchoring and additional measures were taken to further secure them by cabling along with cementing some of the layers. Reef Balls in GDT now have a new and improved look.
