| Fisherman’s Day 2009 postponed |
| Fishermen’s day was originally scheduled for September 5th but due to potential weather conditions and difficulties encountered with public financial donors and their financial situation, it is felt that the festivities for fishermen’s day must be held at another date - which will be announced shortly. Fishermen’s day has been a time of the year when the DECR in collaboration with private organizations set aside one day to celebrate the role of the fishermen of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The day is filled with fun activities, competitions, food, drink and music. Fishermen and others have the opportunity to show their pride for the craft. The day has been celebrated every year since 2003 and is expected to still occur this year. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to the up and coming Fisherman’s Day 2009. |
